WindGISKI
Project

WindGISKI

The main objectives of the project are the development and evaluation of an AI-based GIS for the designation of potential areas for wind turbines, which on the one hand systematises and automates the identification and evaluation process of possible potential areas and on the other hand process of identifying and evaluating potential areas, and on the other hand improve the number and quality of potential areas designated in the future. The AI-based GIS should ultimately help to ensure that in future the existing potential areas for wind turbines (greenfield and repowering potential) can be exploited more extensively and efficiently, thereby significantly increasing the total installed capacity of wind turbines in Germany.

Scientific and/or technical objectives of the project

objective ID & short description Z.1: Detailed fine concept in the extended, interdisciplinary project consortium
Detailed
Description
  • Revised/expanded definitions of target variables and characteristics that simultaneously meet the above-mentioned objectives and can be mapped comprehensively on the data side (fk-wind).
  • Database and simulation designs (see 3.) that simultaneously meet the performance and accuracy requirements of the project.
and accuracy requirements of the project (Nefino)
  • Evaluation and piloting concepts that test the quality of the AI to be developed by means of field research over the test period.
AI to be developed by means of field research beyond the test and validation data (UOL).
